BINAN, Laguna — Petron is one win away from an elimination round sweep after clobbering Mane ‘N Tail, 25-15, 25-23, 25-14, on Saturday in the Philippine Super Liga All Filipino Conference at Alonte Sports Arena.
Dindin Santiago-Manabat scored 18 points, while Rachel Anne Daquis had 13 as the Blaze Spikers scored their ninth victory in as many matches.
Although Petron Had already secured a semifinal berth, coach Goerge Pascua wants his wards to keep their guard up.
“Kailangan naming ma-sustain ang momentum namin, mahirap magrelax lahat ng kalaban naghahanda,” said Pascua.
“Kaya kailangan naming magfocus sa kung sino man ang kalaban namin,” he added. “Special ang training namin, alam ng mga bata ang gagawin nila.”
Mary Grace Masangkay provided 24 of the team’s 30 excellent sets for the Blaze Spikers, while libero Jen Reyes had six digs and five excellent reception.
Petron hit 10 service aces, including five from Santiago-Manabat, while Mane ‘N Tail only had three. Mane N Tail matched the Petron’s six blocks.
Perpetual Help top hitter Honey Royse Tubino came up with 12 points for Mane ‘N Tail, which suffered its sixth loss in eight matches.
