Lyceum downs Letran for first win as Perpetual beats EAC to gain share of NCAA men's volley lead

LYCEUM came from a set down to deny Letran, 20-25, 27-25, 25-20, 25-22, to barge into the winning column of the NCAA Season 93 men’s volleyball tournament on Thursday at The Arena in San Juan.

Jhonel Badua led the way with 19 points, while Joeward Presneded added 14 as the Pirates snapped a three-game losing skid and copped their first win and improved to the eighth spot (1-3).

Skipper Bobby Gatdula and Paul John Alilio finished with 19 markers for Letran, while Christopher Cistina chipped in 11. The Knights remained winless in four outings.

Meanwhile, University of Perpetual Help cruised to its fourth straight win at the expense of Emilio Aguinaldo College, 25-14, 25-19, 25-11.

Team captain Rey Taneo made 12 points for UPH, while Joebert Almodel and Ronniel Rosales had 10 as the Altas gained a share of the lead with Arellano University (4-0).

Joshua Mina had 13 points for EAC (2-2).
