PERLAS recorded its first back-to-back wins in the Premier Volleyball League Reinforced Conference, downing the Power Smashers, 27-25, 26-24, 25-19, on Saturday at The Arena in San Juan
Finally after eight matches, Perlas Brazilian import Rupia Inck and Japanese reinforcement Naoko Hashimoto were able to suit up and help as the team improved its record to 5-3.
Inck scored 19, team captain Dzi Gervacio added 11 points and Hashimoto registered 25 excellent sets and six attacks.
"Laking tulong din (ni Rupia) kasi we needed a strong outside hitter then who could help us saka setter din," said Gervacio.
"We needed a taller setter din eh. Previously 'yung adjustment namin kapag si (Jem) Ferrer ang setter we have to look out for the balls that passes through her."
The Spikers were coming off a straight-sets win over Philippine Air Force on Thursday.
Kannika Tipachot had 16 points and Hyapa Amporn scored 13 for the Power Smashers, who dropped to 3-4.
