UNIVERSITY of Sto. Tomas got back on winning track but needed four sets to stop lowly Adamson on Saturday in the UAAP women's volleyball tournament at The Arena in San Juan.
The Tigresses came up with a 25-12, 25-18, 22-25, 25-19 victory to bounce back from a straight-sets loss to Ateneo for a 6-4 win-loss record.
Adamson remained winless in 10 matches, absorbing its 17th straight loss since last season.
Cherry Rondina scored 18 points, including 15 spikes and two service aces.
EJ Laure chipped in 14 points, while Pam Lastimosa and Ria Meneses scored 11 points apiece
Adamson showed resistance in the third frame, racing off to a 20-16 lead with Jane Dahab hitting back-to-back aces.
UST pulled to within two, 24-22, but the Tigresses' surge was cut short as the Lady Falcons took the frame after EJ Laure's shot went wide.
With a balanced attack, UST rolled to 20-8 advantage in the fourth before Rondina finished it off with a crosscourt smash.
"Kahit di naman namin sabihin makikita mo na may complacency e," said UST coach Kungfu Reyes.
"Kailangan namin trabahuhin pa para maabot namin goal namin."
Jessica Galanza paced Adamson with 16 points while Joy Dacoron scored 11.
