ATENEO and National U go for their fifth straight wins and spots in the semifinals as they take on separate rivals on Wednesday in the Spikers’ Turf Collegiate Conference at The Arena in San Juan.
The Blue Eagles, with a 4-0 record, take on midtable Emilio Aguinaldo College (2-2) in the 1 p.m. match, while the Bulldogs battle lowly St. Benilde (1-3) at 5 p.m.
La Salle and National College of Business and Arts try to bolster their own semis drive when they clash in the 3 p.m. match.
While the Eagles are looking to keep their slate unblemished, the Generals are raring to get back on track after absorbing a stinging five-set loss to the Blazers.
“EAC is not the NCAA champion for nothing. We have to find ways to slow down Howard Mojica,” said Ateneo coach Oliver Almadro.
La Salle is running third with a 2-1 win-loss mark and No. 4 EAC needs to win as NCBA is close behind at 1-2 and UP and St. Benilde remain the hunt despite their identical 1-3 marks.
The Bulldogs face the Blazers, who are looking for get a win run going and boost their chances for one of the last two spots in the semis of the league presented by PLDT Home Ultera.
The NU-UP match on Monday will be shown on Wednesday starting at 3:30 p.m. on PTV 4. Games are aired on a delayed basis from Monday to Friday while Saturday telecast begins at 9:15 p.m.
