NATIONAL University tries to stay alive in the Final Four race when it collides with Far Eastern University in the 75th UAAP women’s volleyball tournament at The Arena in San Juan on Saturday.
After posting a gutsy 30-28, 20-25, 25-22, 25-19 victory over the Adamson last Wednesday, the Lady Bulldogs are in another must-win situation as they look to secure a playoff against University of Santo Tomas for the final berth in the semifinals.
But to do so, the Lady Bulldogs (7-6) must not only beat FEU in their 3:30 p.m. match but also hope that UST (8-5) loses to Ateneo on Sunday.
NU, however, can automatically kiss its Final Four hopes goodbye if the Lady Bulldogs lose to the also-ran Lady Tamaraws, who are trying to snap a three-game skid.
Team captain Dindin Santiago, who poured in 21 points against the Lady Falcons, is expected to lead the Lady Bulldogs’ attack anew alongside Myla Pablo and Cai Nepomuceno.
Meanwhile, defending champion De La Salle clashes with winless University of the East at 2 o’clock in a no-bearing matchup.
The Lady Archers, who lord over the standings with a 12-1 win-loss card, hope to just boost their confidence ahead of their semifinal matchup either against UST or NU.
