JASMINE Nabor is without a doubt one of the best playmakers in the collegiate level, but the National University setter insisted that the championship trophy bears more weight to her than any individual accolade.

The soft-spoken third year setter was named Finals MVP after the Lady Bulldogs romped to a perfect 9-0 run to the championship in the Premier Volleyball League Collegiate Conference after defeating Far Eastern University in two games.

Paulit-ulit ko pong sinasabi na okay lang po na walang individual award basta makuha po namin itong championship ulit,” said Nabor after their 25-22, 25-19, 19-25, 25-16, win on Saturday at The Arena in San Juan.

The shy and unassuming Nabor turned emotional when she was named Finals MVP.

In the midst of the loud cheers at the venue, a small voice within her stood out as she savored the moment when she was awarded on center court.

“Kasi di ko po ini-expect na ako po (ang Finals MVP),” said Nabor, while holding on to her trophy.

Parang sobrang thankful po talaga ako,” she added.

But just when the thought was slowly starting to sink in, Nabor was quick to deflect the credit.
