NATIONAL University snapped a three-game losing slide on Sunday, hammering Adamson, 25-18, 25-12, 25-18, in the UAAP Season 78 women's volleyball tournament on Sunday at The Arena in San Juan.
The Lady Bulldogs improved to 4-4 (win-loss) for a three-way tie with University of Santo Tomas and Far Eastern University after starting the second round of the eliminations on a positive note.
NU standouts Myla Pablo and Jaja Santiago, who tallied three and four points, respectively, in their previous loss to University of the Philippines, regained their old, deadly form to spark the Lady Bulldogs back to life.
Pablo sparkled on both ends of the floor as she delivered 14 points, 10 digs and nine excellent receptions, while Santiago had 13 points, anchored on 12 spikes.
Seldon-used veteran setter Ivy Perez registered all of the team's 21 excellent sets.
"We have been having rough times in the past two weeks eh," admitted NU coach Roger Gorayeb. "We need this kind of thing to bring back 'yung confidence ng mga bata."
"Sinabi ko sa kanila na, 'You have to work harder. Less talk, more action,'" he added.
All Adamson players were limited to a single-digit outputs as Mylene Paat and comely Jessica Galanza each had five points.
The Lady Falcons dropped to seventh spot with a 3-5 mark.
