NATIONAL University kept its win run going by nipping University of the Philippines, 25-22, 23-25, 25-19, 25-23 in the UAAP men's volleyball tournament on Sunday at the Filoil Flying V Centre.
The Bulldogs rolled to a fifth straight victory and joined league leaders Ateneo and Far Eastern University atop the heap with a 6-1 win-loss record.
Bryan Bagunas led NU's charge with 19 points, while James Natividad has 17 markers. Fauzi Ismail and Francis Saura added 14 and 12 markers, respectively.
UP dropped to a tie for the sixth and seventh places with Adamson on a 2-5 record.
Meanwhile, the Falcons hardly broke a sweat in clobbering University 25-16, 25-18, 25-12, ending the first round on a high note while adding to the misery of the listless Red Warriors.
Paolo Pablico led Adamson's attack with 20 points including four blocks, while Royce Bello had 16 points.
Leo Miranda added nine markers.
Clifford Inoferio tallied eight points for UE, closed out the first round without a single victory, 0-7.
