NATIONAL University secured a semifinal spot in the Spikers’ Turf Collegiate Conference, whipping Perpetual Help, 25-21, 25-22, 25-22, on Saturday at the Filoil Flying V Arena in San Juan.
Madzlan Gampong scored 12, Bryan Bagunas added 11 points while Ismail Fauzi chipped in 10 as the Bulldogs finished the eliminations with a 4-1 win-loss slate and eliminated the Altas, who suffered their second loss in five matches.
“Sabi ko sa players ko, kung sino matalo sa amin sigurado magbabakasyon na,” NU head coach Dante Alinsunurin said.
“Kaya kahit anong mangyari, kailangan manalo tayo ngayon.”
NU fell behind by four in the third set but managed to turn things around, tying the game at 22 and completing the straight-sets win.
Jack Kalingking paced the Altas with 11 points, Rey Taneo scored nine and Johnjohn Narvasa chipped in with seven points.
