LEFT without a home, the Shakey’s V-League is planning to move its Open Conference games to the Ninoy Aquino Stadium beginning on August 19.
The organizing Sports Vision has filed a written request to the Philippine Sports Commission for the use of the Ninoy Aquino Stadium as its venue for the duration of the Season 9 second conference.
Sports Vision chairman Moying Martelino said the league’s unofficial home, the Filoil Flying V Arena in San Juan, is unavailable for the tournament because the UAAP and the NCAA have already booked the venue for its games in the next two months.
Games this conference will be held every Sundays, Tuesdays and Fridays.
The PSC is expected to approve the request.
“As long as they comply with the requirements and the dates are available, we can accommodate them,” said PSC officer-in-charge Salvador Andrada.
Five teams are set to participate in the Open Conference, although Martelino declined to name the squads.
The Philippine Army is the defending champion.
