BANKO-Perlas star Nicole Tiamzon felt weird in facing her former team University of the Philippines in the Premier Volleyball League Open Conference on Wednesday at The Arena in San Juan.
For the first time, Tiamzon was on the other side of the court, along with former UP skipper Kathy Bersola, up against the Lady Maroons in a competitive game, leading Perlas to a 30-28, 21-25, 25-21, 25-18, win.
“I don't know what to feel,” said Tiamzon. “I mean, naglalaban naman kami before sa training, pero 'yung sabihin mong live game, this is the first time na nangyari.”
While the UP fans were cheering for the Lady Maroons, Tiamzon can’t help but to feel pumped up.
“Kanina nga 'yung mga bata, nagchi-cheer sa UP? Siyempre UP pa rin. Andoon pa rin 'yung dugong Maroon,” she said.
Her familiarity to the team also played a big role for the Spikers, who remained in the semis race.
“Sobrang nakaka-excite na parang, anong gagawin nila, 'di ba? Gets namin 'yung laro ng isa't isa,” said Tiamzon.
“So paano kami pupuntos, paano kami maga-adjust sa isa't isa for Kathy and me,” she added.
