UST Tigresses find groove, extend win run to three with impressive win over FEU

UNIVERSITY of Santo Tomas sent Far Eastern University crashing back to earth, 25-16, 21-25, 26-24, 25-20, in the UAAP Season 79 women’s volleyball tournament on Saturday at the MOA Arena.

Unheralded Mary Dominique Pacres stood out the Tigresses in the fourth set as the Espana-based squad extended its winning run to three and put an end to FEU's three-game winning run.

Pacres fired three consecutive service aces to push the Tigress’ lead to 23-16 and team captain Sisi Rondina gave UST six match points at 24-17.

The Lady Tamaraws survived three match points, including two on errors from UST before Rondina sealed the win for the Tigresses with an emphatic kill.

UST improved to 4-3 to tie its victim at the end of the first round of the eliminations.
