UNIVERSITY of Santo Tomas kept its Final Four hopes alive after beating Adamson, 25-23, 21-25, 25-16, 25-17, on Saturday in the UAAP Season 80 men’s volleyball tournament at the Blue Eagle Gym.

Jayvee Sumagaysay had 20 points, while Tyrone Jan Carodan had 14 points for the Growling Tigers, who are now tied with Adamson for fourth place with a 6-8 win-loss slate.

Adamson would have clinched the fourth and final seed in the semifinals had it won over UST, with the possibility that the Falcons will also be entangled in a tie with La Salle if the Green Spikers defeat Far Eastern University on Sunday.

Paolo Pablico had 17 points for the Falcons.

In the second game, University of the Philippines beat University of the East, 25-20, 22-25, 25-7, 25-18, in the battle of also-ran teams.

Wendel Miguel had 22 points for the Fighting Maroons, who finished their Season 80 campaign with a 4-10 slate.

UE lost all 14 of its games this season.
