UNIVERSITY of the Philippines strengthened its bid for the semifinals of the Premier Volleyball League after an easy 25-16, 25-19, 25-20 win over San Beda College on Saturday at The Arena in San Juan.

Diana Carlos scored 14 points for UP, while Isa Molde added 12.

The Lady Maroons scored their third straight win to improve to 3-1, tied with Arellano University for second spot behind unbeaten Adamson University (3-0).

“Compared doon sa previous games namin, mas lumabas kanina 'yung mga inaayos namin sa training. Kita namin 'yung improvement,” said UP assistant coach Kat de Lara.

“Siyempre, meron pa ring mistakes. Then again, na-apply namin sa games 'yung mga ginagawa namin sa training,” she added.

Cesca Racraquin, Satrriani Espiritu and Jiezela Viray each had six points for San Beda, which dropped to 2-2.
