Adamson adds to woes of La Salle as Archers lose top hitter Raymark Woo due to ACL injury in loss

ADAMSON pounded La Salle, 26-24, 24-26, 25-20, 28-26, in the UAAP Season 79 men's volleyball tournament on Wednesday at The Arena in San Juan.

John Philip Yude made 18 points for the Falcons, while Paolo Pablico and Jerome Sarmiento added 17 markers apiece.

The San Marcelino-based squad capitalized on the early exit of La Salle top hitter Raymark Woo, who suffered an ACL injury early in the game.

Arjay Onia took on the scoring load for La Salle with 27 points, while Rafael del Pilar chipped in 12 markers and Chris Dumaho added 10.

Meanwhile, two-time defending champion Ateneo dominated listless University of the East Red Warriors, 25-17, 25-13, 25-22, to remain unbeaten. 

Marck Espejo led the Blue Eagles with 15 points, while Rex Intal added 10 markers. Josh Villanueva and Karl Baysa combined for 14 points as Ateneo pocketed its fifth straight win.

The Katipunan-based squad will face University of the Philippines on Sunday before it closes the first round against La Salle on March 4.

UE hitters Edward Camposano and Samuel Lelic Jr. were held down to only six points apiece as the Red Warriors absored their 33rd straight loss dating back to Season 78.
