ATENEO had its usual grueling practice despite an extended break before the finals rematch against bitter rival La Salle in the UAAP Season 79 women's volleyball tournament.

Due to the Asean Summit, the best-of-three championship series that was supposed to open on Saturday got moved to May 2, giving the Lady Eagles and Lady Spikers three more days to prepare for the finals.

However, the extended break did not stop Ateneo coach Tai Bundit from giving the Lady Eagles their daily dose of a Spartan-like regimen.

"As of now ginagawa pa rin namin ang same drills na pinapagawa ni Coach Tai tapos may mga times na may pahinga kami ng slight," said Ateneo hitter Michelle Morente after the two-hour training at the Blue Eagle gym in Ateneo.

Aside from Morente, skipper Jia Morado, Bea de Leon, Jhoana Maraguinot, Kat Tolentino, Jules Samonte, Kim Gequillana and Gizelle Tan were present.
