No team practice but Lady Eagles required to follow individual training program during break

THERE will be no team practice for the Ateneo Lady Eagles but they have been given a specific training program to follow during the Holy Week break.

Twice-to-beat Ateneo is preparing for Far Eastern University in the Final Four of the UAAP Season 79 women’s volleyball tournament.

“Well, we're still training naman and we train on our own, kunwari hindi kami magmi-meet as a team. May program kaming sinusundan,” said Ateneo skipper Jia Morado.

The Lady Eagles and Lady Tamaraws don’t meet until April 23, but under Tai Bundit, no classes means more training for Ateneo.

“For coach Tai there's never a break,” said third year middle blocker Bea de Leon.

“Actually thats gonna be a tougher training for us having no classes.”

“That’s gonna be a lot tougher for us. Coach will maximize that (no classes and UAAP break),” she added.

De Leon and Morado understand the need for extra work during the break.

FEU is the only team that dragged Ateneo to a five-set match this season, the Lady Tamaraws actually doing it twice.

“Both games naman we came out on top so hopefully that continues (but) you can never underestimate them,” said de Leon. “When they’re all fired up it’s really hard for anyone.”

“Yung gagawin na lang namin talaga for that game is to prepare like we always do. Oo, first and second round, five sets pareho, and we're not going to deny that FEU is a really strong team,” agreed Morado.
