BINAN CITY -- Defending champion Bangkok Glass of Thailand secured a spot in the semifinals after it disposed Thongtin Lien Viet Post Bank of Vietnam, 25-17, 25-18, 25-15, in the 2016 AVC Asian Women’s Club Championship on Friday at Alonte Sports Arena here.

Skipper and last year's MVP Thinkaow Pleumjit led the way for Bangkok Glass with 12 points, anchored on 10 kills.

Thailand bounced back from a five-setter loss to Asian powerhouse Ba'yi Shenzhenv of China on Wednesday and will face NEC Red Rockets of Japan in the semifinals on Saturday.

Apinyapong Wilavan also had 12 points, while American import Ashley Frazier added 11 markers for Thailand.

Skipper Thi Minh Do, Thi Thao Tran and Nguyet Anh Pham Thi made seven points each for Thongtin Lien Viet Post Bank.

Vietnam was relegated to the classification phase and will face T. Grand of Chinese Taipei for 5th to 8th place on Saturday.
