PAYMAYA scored its second straight win, spoiling titleholder Pocari-Air Force’s debut, 25-20, 25-19, 25-22, on Saturday in the Premier Volleyball League Reinforced Conference at the People’s Gym in Tuguegarao City.

Tess Rountree had 16 kills and came away with two blocks in a big follow-up to her 22-point performance in the team’s straight-sets win over Tacloban last week.

“Maganda 'yung ginalaw ng team. Kumpara doon sa first game namin, mas kaunti 'yung mistakes, 'yung errors. 'Yung imports naman very determined lang talaga kasi alam din nila na they could play better than last time tapos defending champions nga 'yung kalaban namin,” said PayMaya coach Roger Gorayeb.

PayMaya will face crowd favorite Creamline on Sunday.

“Hindi naman bago 'yung mga laruang back-to-back. Siguro, mas pagod kami nang kaunti, pero ganoon din naman 'yung kalaban,” he said.

“We just have to stay prepared for Creamline tapos hindi magpadala sa crowd nila. Nakita naman na namin 'yung first game nila, mukang marami din silang fans dito,” he added.

Myla Pablo led Pocari Sweat-Air Force with 12 points.
