SISI Rondina has been carrying the bulk load for the UST Golden Tigresses in the ongoing UAAP women's volleyball season.

But she hardly flinches under the weight.

Asked if fatigue is starting to take its toll the Tigresses fell to Ateneo 16-25, 25-22, 25-22, 25-23, the power hitter simply shrugged her shoulder and reiterated a promise she gave the UST community.

"Nagbitaw ako ng salita na hindi namin ipapahiya ang UST, so hindi ako mapapagod para sa UST," she said.

True to her word, Rondina hardly looked tired on Sunday as she smashed 22 spikes against Ateneo. But her effort was not enough as the Tigresses ended up absorbing their second loss in three matches.

Contrary to what some fans feel, Rondina said she's getting enough support from her teammates. They were just struggling to pull through in the crucial stretch, she added.

"Kita naman na nagtutulungan kami. Ano lang, lapses lang. Kailangan gamutin lang," said Rondina, who is averaging 23.3 points this season.

Expect the high-flyer to come out oozing with energy when UST takes on Adamson on February 18.

"Kinakailangan namin mag-double time sa lahat para makita namin 'yung kulang dun sa mga games na natalo kami. Kailangan namin magtrabaho talaga para sa next game," she said.
