Assistant coach of Japan national team tasked to lead Super Liga All Stars at worlds

SHUN Takahashi of Japan was appointed head coach of the Philippine Superliga (PSL) team  that is set see action in the FIVB Women’s Club World Championship from October 18 to 23 at the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City.

Joining Takahashi are F2 Logistics coach Ramil de Jesus and Sammy Acaylar of Cignal as assistant coaches, as well as Kungfu Reyes of RC Cola Armyand Benson Bocboc of F2 Logistics as trainers.

Takahashi, 26, is an assistant coach of Japan national team and a former player for FC Tokyo.

Suzara said that although Takahashi is younger than some of the players, his credentials are impressive.

"As you know, Japan finished (with a) bronze (medal) in the London Olympics and he's from one of the top teams in Asia," said Suzara.

"PSL is trying to have a very good relationship with Japan club teams. We are starting to talk to Hisamistu and I had good meetings with NEC and later on the team will go to Japan to train," he added.

Rachel Anne Daquis and Jovelyn Gonzaga of RC Cola-Army, Frances Molina and Jen Reyes of Petron, Jaja Santiago of Foton, Kim Fajardo and Mika Reyes of F2 Logistics together with seven foreign players will make up the team.

The imports will start arriving next week in anticipation for the opening of the training camp on September 15.
