GETTING replaced as Far Eastern University Lady Tamaraws coach might just be a blessing in disguise, said Shaq delos Santos.

It has been almost a month since Delos Santos was informed by FEU officials that he is out, after steering the Lady Tamaraws to three straight Final Four appearances.

FEU athletic director Mark Molina announced on Sunday that former FEU Tamaraws coach George Pascua has been tapped to take over the women’s team for UAAP Season 80.

Delos Santos said the sacking only means he can now devote more time on his club Petron in the Philippine Super Liga.

“It’s a blessing in disguise na rin because I want to focus on my role as head coach of Petron,” said Delos Santos.

Petron will start its campaign in the PSL All-Filipino Conference on Tuesday, hoping to return to the top.

After back-to-back championship in the 2014 Grand Prix and the 2015 All-Filipino Conference, Petron has yet to win another title.

Petron has signed former F2 Logistics star Mika Reyes, University of Santo Tomas stars Mela Tunay and Ria Meneses, and Foton setter Rhea Dimaculangan.
