Sarmayeh Bank of Iran shakes off slow start to beat April 25 -North Korea in AVC meet

BINAN — Sarmayeh Bank of Iran fought back from a set down to overcome April 25 -North Korea, 26-28, 26-24, 25-20, 25-20, in Pool B of the 2016 AVC Asian Women’s Club Championship at the Alonte Sports Arena.

Mahsa Kadkhoda scored 21 points with 16 spikes to lead Iran.

Famoosh Safari scored 19, Soudabeh Bagherpour had 14 points, Neda Chamlamian chipped in with 13 and team captain Zeinab Giveh came up with 12 points.

Iran scored 62 points on attacks against 48 by the Iranians and dominated the blocks department, 15-4.

Hyang Ju Un scored 13 points from 10 attacks, Hyang Ri Ra had 11 points and Jin Sim Jong had nine markers for the North Korean squad.
