POCARI Sweat coach Rommel Abella couldn't hide his frustration over the delayed release of his imports’ documents to be able to finally suit up in the Premier Volleyball League (PVL) Reinforced Conference.

Bosnian middle blocker Edina Selemovic has been in the country since January, while American outside hitter Michelle Strizak arrived last month, but their International Transfer Certificate have yet to be cleared by the FIVB.

The delay has frustrated both the outspoken coach and the imports as well.

“Oo naman (frustrated na ako) kasi this is the Reinforced Conference, so ang mindset namin and nabuo naming plays and strategy is with imports,” said Abella.

“Actually frustrated na sila kasi pumunta sila dito para maglaro and hindi sila makalaro,” he added.

With the conference already halfway through, Abella is left perplexed by the cause of the delay.

“As far as we are concerned, matagal na naming prinoseso ang papeles na ‘yun. It's just that hindi pa napapadala ng FIVB ang ITCs nila,” said Abella.

The two-time champion coach's frustrations only mounted as he rued his team’s flat start after they prepared a game plan with their imports playing for them.

The Lady Warriors went down with back-to-back losses before they finally recovered with three straight wins to end the first round of the eliminations.

“Kaya nga first few games namin mababa kami kasi for the past month, puro may import ang ensayo namin,” he said.

“Gulatan lang na walang import na nakalaro. It just so happened na ngayon, gumaganda na ang laro,” he added.

League organizer Sports Vision is already working to get the documents released by the FIVB and the papers are expected to arrive next week.

“Ang sabi sa amin, it's either tomorrow or Tuesday. Sila Sir Ricky (Palou, PVL president) they’re working on it,” said Abella.

“Kasi kanina nung kausap ko si Sir Ricky at Sir Tony (Liao, PVL commissioner), kausap ni Sir Tony ang sa FIVB, so fingers-crossed, sana maayos na, if not tomorrow, Monday,” he added.
