BaliPure outlasts Creamline in five sets to book first semis spot in PVL
Grethcel Soltones seals the win for BaliPure. Jerome Ascano

BALIPURE bucked a sluggish start to outlast Creamline, 20-25, 25-23, 19-25, 25-18, 15-7, and book an outright semis berth in the Premier Volleyball League on Tuesday at the Filoil Flying V Centre.

Jennifer Keddy led the Water Defenders with 18 points, including 14 attacks, to keep BaliPure on top with a 7-2 record.

Risa Sato and Jeng Bualee added 16 and 15 markers, respectively, and stood out in the deciding set, where the Water Defenders stormed to an 11-6 start.

The Cool Smashers hardly showed resistance from there as Sato's quick attack and a powerful hit by Gretchel Soltones sealed the win for the Water Defenders.

BaliPure coach Roger Gorayeb was just glad his team will finally get to rest following a hectic schedule in the tournament.

"Pagod na pagod na yung mga bata, sunod sunod yung laro namin. Walang pahinga. Nagpapasalamat ako at makakapahinga kaming mahaba-haba," he said.

The Cool Smashers fell to 3-6 with Alyssa Valdez playing sparingly and finished with only two points.

Kuttika Kaewpin topscored for Creamline with 26 points, while Laura Schaudt scored 16.
