Ran Abdilla shows way as Air Force beats IEM in four to stay on track for PVL semifinals

PHILIPPINE Air Force defeated Instituto Estetico Manila, 25-17, 25-19, 22-25, 25-22, to stay on track for an outright semifinal berth in the men's division of the Premier Volleyball League at The Arena in San Juan on Sunday.

Reigning MVP Ranran Abdilla made 23 points - from 20 attacks and three kill blocks - and 17 excellent receptions for Air Force, which improved to 2-2.

Fauzi Ismail added 15 points, while Edwin Tolentino added 10 markers for the Jet Spikers, who will finish their campaign in the preliminary round against the Vice Co. on Wednesday.

The top two teams after the preliminary round will earn an outright semis berth, while the four remaining squads will battle in a round-robin quarterfinals.

Jeffrey Jimenez finished with 13 points for IEM, while skipper Greg Dolor and Joeward Presnede had 11 and 10 markers, respectively.

The Phoenix Volley Masters slid to 2-3.
