Struggling teams try to boost semis bid as PVL action resumes

WINLESS teams Lyceum of the Philippines and University and Jose Rizal University clash in the Premier Volleyball League Collegiate Conference on Wednesday at The Arena in San Juan.

LPU and JRU face off at 6:30 p.m.

The Lady Pirates lost in straight sets to defending champion National University, while the Lady Bombers are winless in two matches.

Coach Emil Lontoc will rely on Rocelyn Hongria and La Rainne Fabay, who combined for 15 points for LPU against NU.

JRU, on the other hand, will pin its hopes on skipper Shola Alvarez, who scored 13 points in their match against San Sebastian.

San Beda College and College of St. Benilde collide at 4 p.m.

The Lady Red Spikers, who started the conference with a four-set win over Technological Institute of the Philippines, were sent crashing back to earth by NCAA champion Arellano University.

Cesca Racrquin and the Viray twins Nieza and Jiezela try to get San Beda back on track.

Ranya Musa is expected to carry the load for the rebuilding CSB, which suffered a straight set loss to AU in the conference opener.
