BERLIN Paglinawan led the Yellow Team against the Marck Espejo-led Blue Team, 25-16, 20-25, 25-22, 23-25, 15-9, in the Premier Volleyball League All-Star Sunday at The Arena in San Juan.

The opposite spiker from Sta. Elena scored 11 points, including five in the fifth set, in the match that held for the benefit of Hero Foundation.

“Maganda 'yung laban. Diskartehin lang talaga. Lahat ng naglaro is exceptional player naman talaga. Pinili lahat ng magagaling kaya expected na maganda talaga 'yung laban,” said Yellow Team coach Rhovyl Verayo.

“Malaking pasasalamat namin dito sa Premier Volleyball League kasi nga, as a uniformed personnel, malaki ang naitutulong sa amin ng Hero's Foundation,” added Verayo, an Air Force staff sergeant.

Fauzi Ismail scored 14, Air Force teammate and Reinforced Conference MVP Ranran Abdilla had 13 points.

Although it was an exhibition game, Verayo did not want to be complacent.

“Pag sinelect mo na 'yung team, hindi naman pwedeng magkita na lang tayo sa laro. Nag-ensayo pa kami para magpaganda at malaman pwesto ng isa't isa,” he said.

Cignal tandem Espejo and Mark Alfafara led Team Blue with 16 and 10 points, respectively.
