Pocari Sweat hopeful new import Krystal Rivers can get ITC in time for Perlas match
Pocari coach Rommel Abella is hopeful import Krystal Rivers will be available for the match against Perlas on Thursday.

POCARI Sweat hopes to parade its new import Krystal Rivers when it faces Perlas in the Premier Volleyball League Reinforced Conference on Thursday.

The defending champion, which is currently leading the pack in the round-robin quarterfinals with a 2-0 card, is looking to finish with a sweep to secure the third semis spot.

However, Rivers cannot play unless the team gets her International Transfer Certificate clearance from the International Volleyball Federation.

“Andyan na siya, dumating niya nung Saturday ng gabi or Sunday ng madaling araw (and) as usual, ITC na naman ang problema natin,” said Pocari Sweat coach Rommel Abella.

But Abella is optimistic that the American opposite spiker will secure his release in the next few days and will be allowed to play.

“Ang alam ko, positive naman ‘yung news na baka on Thursday, on or before, makuha ang ITC niya,” he said. “Hopefully matuloy nga kasi yung bata, eager to play.”

Rivers replaced Bosnian import Edina Selimovic, who sustained a torn hamstring on her right leg last week.

Rivers and Selimovic watched the game on Tuesday when Pocari Sweat survived Creamline, 25-23, 25-21, 21-25, 18-25, 15-11, at The Arena in San Juan.
