Pocari Sweat gets PVL campaign back on track with four-set win over Iriga-Navy

DEFENDING champion Pocari Sweat-Air Force turned back Iriga-Navy, 25-8, 23-25, 25-18, 25-16, in the Premier Volleyball League Reinforced Conference on Wednesday at The Arena in San Juan.

American import Arielle Love hd a game-high 25 points from 18 attacks, five blocks and two service aces as the Lady Warriors improved to 2-2, good for a tie for fourth spot with Tacloban.

Skipper Myla Pablo added 16 markers, Madeline Palmer pitched in 13 and Jeanette Panaga had 10.

“Very happy (ako) kasi aim namin habang tumatagal dapat pataas ang laro namin,” said Pocari Sweat-Air Force coach Jasper Jimenez after his team atoned for a four-setter loss to Creamline over the weekend in Batangas.

“Nagkataon lang talaga sched ng game namin talagang malalakas kaagad natapat sa amin noong natalo kami sa Creamline. ‘Di lang Creamline kalaban namin pati crowd, homecourt ni Alyssa (Valdez) ‘yun,” he added.

Macy Ubben and Lauren White each had 15 points for the Lady Oragons, who slipped to 1-2.
