PLDT turns back Army to climb to second spot in Spikers' Turf

PLDT downed Army, 25-9, 25-23, 17-25, 25-22, on Tuesday to move to second spot in the Spikers’ Turf men’s volleyball tournament at The Arena in San Juan.

Mark Gil Alfafara scored 21 points from 17 spikes, one block and three service aces, while JP Torres and Henry James Pecana added 12 markers apiece for the Ultra Fast Hitters, who scored their third win in as many matches.

PLDT Home Ultera needed an hour and 44 minutes to finish the match, getting back on track after a loss to league-leading Cagayan Valley (4-0) last week.

Greg Dolor scored 15 points, while skipper John Depamaylo added 12 for Army, which now holds a 2-2 card.
