PLDT Home Ultera snapped a two-game losing skid by drubbing Instituto Estetico Manila, 25-18, 20-25, 25-15, 25-18, in the Spikers' Turf Reinforced Conference at The Arena in San Juan.

Mark Gil Alfafara had 13 points, while Henry Pecana, Peter Torres, and JP Torres combined for 35 points for the Ultra Fast Hitters.

The victory allowed the Open Conference champion to barge into the win column (1-2) despite the team’s lack of consistency training together as some of the players are still in school.

“Actually bihira kaming ma-kumpleto sa practice. Ngayon lang mga six to eight consecutive practices, kaya kami nakapanalo ngayon," said PLDT Home Ultera coach Odjie Mamon.

National University players Peter Torres, Vince Mangulabnan, and Berlin Paglinawan are on semestral break, while Alfafara managed to incorporate training with PLDT while having his classes at University of Santo Tomas.

"Sina Peter, Vinceand Berlin sembreak, tapos si Mark naman na-excuse ng mga prof nila," said Mamon.

Jeffrey Jimenez and Rudy Gatdula combined for 21 points to lead IEM, which absorbed its second loss in as many games.
