NATIONAL University setter Jasmin Nabor considered the Lady Bulldogs' back-to-back wins to start the UAAP Season 80 women’s volleyball tournament a big boost to her confidence.

The Lady Bulldogs took the early lead after following up a four-set win over Adamson with a five-set victory over Ateneo, 25-19, 25-19, 20-25, 12-25, 15-7, on Wednesday at The Arena in San Juan.

Nabor stressed that thrilling wins bring out the best in their team.

“Siguro po mas tumaas ang confidence (kasi) siguro mas nagi-improve pa po ang teamwork namin lalo na kapag gitgitan talaga ang laro, malaking tulong talaga, tapos nanalo pa,” she said.

The opposite spiker turned setter, who registered all of the team’s 29 excellent sets, also added that one of her goals for this season is to serve efficiently. It showed against the Lady Eagles as Nabor scored 11 points, including seven of the team’s 13 service aces, in a match that took an hour and 41 minutes to finish.

Nabor is currently at the seventh spot in the best setters averaging 5.67 per set, but she is fourth in the best servers with 0.78 average per set.

“Yun na po ang pinakamarami ko kasi last year buong season naka-14 po ako,” said Nabor of her service aces.

“Mas pina-focus ako sa service kaysa sa palo. Parang dun na lang siguro ako makakakuha ng point,” she added.
