Unbeaten NU Bulldogs join Ateneo Blue Eagles in semifinals of Spikers' Turf

NATIONAL University joined Ateneo in the semifinals of the Spikers’ Turf Collegiate Conference after surviving College of St. Benilde, 22-25, 25-18, 28-26, 28-26 at The Arena in San Juan on Wednesday.

It was an all-team effort for the Bulldogs, who were led by Madzlan Gampong with 21 points.

Bryan Bagunas had 14, while Fauzi Ismail, Francis Saura, and Kim Malabunga added 10 markers each to underscore the team’s solid performance.

Malabunga registered 24 excellent sets for NU, which remained unbeaten in five games to share the lead with Ateneo.

St. Benilde skipper Johnvic de Guzman poured in 18 points to lead the team, while Racmade Etrone added 14 and Isaah Arda had 10.

The Blazers dropped to a 1-4 mark.
