San Sebastian two victories away from elims sweep after clobbering winless Letran

SAN Sebastian College moved closer to a sweep of the eliminations after downing winless Letran, 25-11, 25-17, 25-15, on Tuesday in the of the NCAA women’s volleyball tournament at The Arena in San Juan.

College of St. Benilde downed Emilio Aguinaldo College, 25-15, 25-12, 18-25, 25-20, to join San Sebastian and Arellano in the next round.

All but one scored at least a point for the San Sebastian, which needed just 61 minutes to take the win.

The Roger Gorayeb-mentored team scored its seventh win in as many games, two victories away from an automatic finals berth.

“Masipag ang lahat ng players, pinaghihirapan nila ang bawat laro,” said Gorayeb.

SSC will face Lyceum on Friday and CSB on Sunday.

Mikaela Lopez scored six points for Letran, winless in seven matches.

Janine Navarro scored 20 points, Jeanette Panaga added 16, Jan Dagul chipped in 12 and Chelsea Santillan had 11 as St. Benilde took the win over EAC in an hour and 23 minutes.

CSB improved its win-loss record to 6-1 for a share of second with the Lady Chiefs.

Ma. Negrina Pagdanganan was the lone bright spot for EAC, scoring 21 points. The Lady Generals dropped to 3-5.
