EAC Generals, St. Benilde Blazers begin NCAA volleyball title showdown

EMILIO Aguinaldo College and College of St. Benilde begin their title showdown on Wednesday in the NCAA volleyball tournament at The Arena in San Juan City.

The Generals are appearing in the finals for the second straight season and hope to go all the way to the top this time after getting swept last year by Perpetual Help.

St. Benilde last made it to the finals eight years ago, bowing to Letran.

The match starts at 2 p.m.

Perpetual Help and Lyceum clash in the first match of the juniors finals at 9 a.m., before Arellano University and San Sebastian College in the women's match at 12 p.m.

The Junior Altas are out to win their first title since winning a back-to-back four years ago.

The Arellano belles try to finish on top this time after falling to Perpetual Help last year.

"Hopefully this would be our year," said Arellano coach Obet Javier.

The second matches are set Friday while deciding matches, if necessary, will be played on Monday.
