PH women's volleyball team buckles down to work with thrice-a-week practices
Alyssa Valdez, Mika Reyes and the rest of the national squad will train three times a week in the next few weeks before overseas training begins next month. 

THE national women’s volleyball team is scheduled to start training for the Southeast Asian Games on Friday at Arellano gym along Taft Avenue.

The Larong Volleyball sa Pilipinas, Inc. (LVPI) was at posting time completing the documents needed for the players because Thursday is the SEA Games deadline for the filing of entry by name.

Former college rivals Mika Reyes and Alyssa Valdez banner the lineup which also includes Denden Lazaro, Kim Fajardo, Rhea Dimculangan, Maika Ortiz, Gen Casugod, Aby Marano, Jovelyn Gonzaga, Aiza Maizo-Pontillas, Jaja Santiago and Ces Molina.

“Start na kami ng practice bukas kasi ngayon inaasikaso pa namin ang mga documents ng mga players sa PSC,” assistant coach Bryan Esquibel said on Thursday at the Arellano gym.

A three-hour practice will be held during Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays before the team leaves for training in Japan and China from July 18 to August 3.
