Philippine women’s volley team downs Okayama Seagulls’ third team in straight sets

THE Philippine women’s volleyball team the third group of the Okayama Seagulls, 25-22, 25-17, 25-14, on Wednesday at the host’s gym in the picturesque city in Japan.

The Pinay volleybelles recovered from a straight-set loss to the Seagulls club team that competes in the Japan V. Premier League on Tuesday.

The nationals led by skipper Mika Reyes, Alyssa Valdez, Aby Maraño, Jovelyn Gonzaga, Aiza Maizo-Pontillas, Jaja Santiago, Ces Molina, Gen Casugod, Maika Ortiz and Rhea Dimaculangan worked on their defense in the morning session.

The Japan training camp for the team that also has Kim Fajardo, Denden Lazaro, Kim Dy and Dawn Macandili will be for a total of 17 days.
