LA Salle Lady Spikers standout Mika Reyes has chosen to keep mum amid all the speculations as her break-up with Ateneo basketball star Kiefer Ravena became public.

Reyes declined to comment on the matter when asked by Spin.ph on Sunday after the Lady Spikers' match in the Philippine National Games (PNG), just day after Ravena broke his silence to confirm the split.

Asked about the cause of the break-up during an appearance before entertainment writes for the launch of a new television sitcom, Ravena told our sister website Pep.ph, “I’m just not in the position to talk about that. It’ll be better if it comes from her.”

Reyes, though, isn't talking as well.

Although the break-up has been known in volleyball circles for weeks now, Reyes remained in good spirits, even accommodating photo requests from a handful of fans for photo request outside the Ninoy Aquino Stadium.

Reyes also saw limited action in the Lady Spikers’ match against Jose Rizal University to open their PNG campaign, but was seen cheering for her teammates during the match.

For his part, Ravena only talked about the issue after being linked to other women, notably Lady Eagles star Alyssa Valdez with whom he is close.

“There was no third party as what people speculate. There was none, there was no third party or anyone else involved in the breakup. I just want to make myself clear and stop all the speculations na mayroon ngang nangyari.”
