No stopping Ateneo as unbeaten Blue Eagles too much for FEU Tamaraws in Spikers Turf

DEFENDING UAAP champion Ateneo remained unbeaten after dominating Far Eastern University, 25-21, 25-19, 22-25, 25-17, in the round robin quarterfinals of the Spikers’ Turf Collegiate Conference at The Arena in San Juan on Monday.

Marck Espejo made 20 points for the Blue Eagles, while skipper Ysay Marasigan added 17, Rex Intal chipped in 14, and Joshua Villanueva contributed 10.

Ateneo won its fourth consecutive game as two of its other victories over eliminated teams Arellano and La Salle-Dasmarinas were not carried over in the quarterfinals.

FEU team captain Greg Dolor finished with 17 points for the Tamaraws, who dropped to an 0-4 card.

The Tamaraws’ wins over also-rans UE and La Salle-Dasmarinas were likewise not carried over in the next round.
