Cardinals remain in the hunt for quarterfinals berth after clobbering Warriors

MAPUA remained in contention for a quarterfinals berth as it snapped a three-game losing skid by cloberring University of the East, 25-17, 25-23, 25-23, in the Spikers’ Turf Collegiate Conference at The Arena in San Juan on Monday.

Anjo Pertierra and skipper Philip Bagalay made 10 points apiece for the Cardinals, who now hold a 1-3 card in Group A.

Undefeated Emilio Aguinaldo College (4-0) and National University (3-0) already secured their respective slots in the next round.

National College of Business and Arts is at third with an even 2-2 record, followed by Mapua and Far Eastern University (1-2).

UE skipper Edward Camposano had nine markers for the Red Warrios, who absorbed their fourth consecutive loss in as many games.
