La Salle begins UAAP life without Kim Fajardo in Feb. 3 opener vs Laure-less UST
Majoy Baron and the Lady Spikers eye a strong start against the Tigresses who will lean on Cherry Rondina.

LA Salle faces University of Sto. Tomas to start its three-peat bid as the UAAP Season 80 women’s volleyball tournament opens on February 3 at the MOA Arena.

The Lady Spikers will parade a formidable core led by last year’s MVP Majoy Baron, Kim Dy and Dawn Macandili although they are now without star setter Kim Fajardo, who has played out her eligibility.

The Tigresses, on the other hand, will miss former team captain EJ Laure, out with a shoulder injury, as well as Ria Meneses and will lean on hardworking Sisi Rondina, Dimdim Pacres and Tin Francisco.

The La Salle-UST match is set at 4 p.m. after the curtain-raiser at 2 p.m. between Adamson and National University.

Meanwhile, the much-anticipated clash between arch-rivals La Salle and Ateneo is set March 3 also at the MOA Arena.
