Letran Lady Knights win five-set showdown with EAC Lady Generals

LETRAN outlasted Emilio Aguinaldo College, 18-25, 25-22, 25-23, 24-26, 15-7, on Monday in the NCAA Season 92 women's volleyball tournament at The Arena in San Juan.

Jaymeleene Parin led the Lady Knights with 17 points, Glayssa Torres scored 12, while Mikaela Lopez had 11 points in the matchup of also-rans.

Kathleen Barrinuevo and Miracle Mendoza combined for 19 points as Letran scored its second win in nine matches.

Ladeisheen Magbanua scored 16 points, while Kristine Santos added 13 for the Lady Generals, who absorbed their eighth loss in nine matches.

In the men's division, EAC beat Letran, 32-30, 25-22, 25-20.

Zedrick Cilocilo scored 22 and Joshua Mina had 21 points to help the Generals score their first win in nine matches.

Letran suffered its seventh loss in nine outings.

In juniors' play, EAC beat Letran, 25-16, 25-15, 25-16, for its seventh win in eight outings.

The Squires dropped to 2-5.
