LA Salle secured at least a playoff for the twice-to-beat advantage in the Final Four with a 25-23, 25-23, 25-22 victory over University of Sto. Tomas on Sunday in the UAAP Season 80 women's volleyball tournament at The Arena in San Juan.

The three-peat seeking Lady Spikers improved to 10-2, while the Tigresses, shoved out of the semifinal picture before the match, dropped to 4-9.

Kim Dy had with 12 points and six digs for La Salle.

“Ang importante ay ’yung result, naka-survive kami ng straight sets, pero medyo close ’yung laro,” said La Salle coach Ramil de Jesus, whose team had a 15-day break.

“'Yun nga ang mahirap kalabanin, 'yung nothing to lose. Kasi wala nang pressure so maglalaro lang talaga 'yun. And 'yun ang sinasabi ko naman sa mga players, na kailangan paghandaan natin, napaka-importante ng game na 'to,” De Jesus added.

Sisi Rondina led UST with 23 points and 11 digs, while Milena Alessandrini added 10 markers and 10 excellent receptions.

UST ends its stint on Saturday when it takes on Adamson (5-7).
