LA Salle already secured a semifinals berth in the UAAP women’s volleyball tournament, but coach Ramil de Jesus stressed that making the Final Four is just a step towards achieving the Lady Spikers’ ultimate goal – a shot at another title match.

The Lady Spikers clinched a Final Four spot Saturday with a 25-22, 25-20, 21-25, 27-25 win over National University, joining earlier semifinalist and defending champion Ateneo in the next round.

Complacency though is one of the things De Jesus remains wary as far as the Lady Spikers are concerned.

“Problema sa team ‘yun,” said de Jesus. “Nagre-relax at nagiging over confident after ng mga pinagdaanan namin sa first round. Siguro akala nila kayang-kaya nila.”

La Salle’s next opponent will be the streaking University of Santo Tomas on Wednesday.

The Tigresses ended their five-game losing skid and are now on a three-game winning run capped by an easy win over NU, 25-22, 25-19, 25-18, on Wednesday.
