LA Salle continued its streak and ended University of Santo Tomas’ surprise run with a 25-21, 25-9, 25-18 victory on Wednesday in the UAAP women’s volleyball tournament at The Arena in San Juan.

Ara Galang led the Lady Spikers with 17 points, while Cyd Demecillo added 12 as the Lady Spikers scored their fourth straight win and improved their win-loss record to 10-1.

“Hindi ko in-expect na mabilis ang laro,” said La Salle coach Ramil de Jesus, who admitted they were wary of the Tigresses, who had won four straight.

The Taft-based Lady Spikers, who have earlier secured a semifinal slot with league-leading Ateneo (11-0), needed only an hour and 16 minutes to take the win.

“Maganda ang nilaro ng mga bata at ne-execute naman ang mga plays,” said de Jesus.

La Salle came up with seven blocks against UST’s lone block point.

Pam Lastimosa, EJ Laure and Ria Meneses each had six points for UST, which suffered its sixth loss in 11 outings but remained in third spot.
