Kim Fajardo thrilled to reunite with former high school teammates Valdez, Santiago
Kim Fajardo, widely expected to be the starting setter for the Philippine women's volleyball team, will take chargeof an offense that features some of the country's top hitters including former high school teammates Alyssa Valdez and Jaja Santiago.

KIM Fajardo is eager to reunite with high school teammates Alyssa Valdez and Jaja Santiago, and thrilled to play alongside several other top players in the Philippine women's national team bound for two international competitions this year.

Fajardo was among 18 players included in the national pool by women’s team head coach Francis Vicente, who was her coach when she was in high school at University of Santo Tomas.

"Siguro kay Alyssa, Jaja, 'yung mga naging teammates ko nung high school na nag-RP Youth," said Fajardo when a reporter asked who among the members of the national squad she is excited to team up with.

With all the talent around her, Fajardo is also facing sort of a dilemma as a setter, making her even more eager to start training and get into the rhythm with the team.

"'Yung mga nakikita ko sa PSL, gusto ko silang maging teammate kasi star sila sa mga club teams nila. Ang problema ko talaga, sino bibigyan ko ng bola kasi lahat sila mga stars. Tignan natin kung ano ang mangyayari," said Fajardo.

Fajardo and the rest of the national squad will begin preparation for the Asian Women's Championship that the country will host in early August before plunging into action in the Southeast Asian Games in Malaysia later that same month.
