BATANGAS CITY — There's no dream too big for pint-sized volleybelle Jen Reyes.

The Petron libero on Tuesday became the fourth player to be given the golden ticket to the FIVB Women's Club World Championship set from October 18 to 23 at the Mall of Asia Arena.

The former National University defense specialist turned emotional when her name was called by Philippine Super Liga president Tats Suzara and shed tears while walking to center court to receive the golden ticket at the Batangas City Coliseum after the game between the Tri-Activ Spikers and F2 Logistics.

"Dati spiker ako pero hindi na ako lumaki, tapos tinrain ako defense specialist so talagang doon ako nagpursige sa depensa and doon na ako nabihasa," said Reyes, who started her volleyball career in Marilao, Bulacan.

"Super happy and blessed syempre hindi mo expect na ikaw 'yung makukuha," she added. "Ngayon, syempre hindi mo naman mae-expect lahat ng tao na maniwala sayo and ito 'yung binigay sayo kasama ka na sa history ng Pilipinas. Kumbaga kailangan 'yung opportunity na ito 'wag mong hayaan lang. Binigyan ka ng pagkakataon, ipakita mo sa mga tao 'yung natutunan mo simula pa lang noong nag-uumpisa ako."

Reyes' credentials, though, is as impressive as her defensive skills as she became part of the team that was sent to the Asian Club Championship for three straight years.

In 2014, she was part of the PLDT squad in Thailand, and she was with Petron in Vietnam after a rare 13-0 conference sweep in the PSL All Filipino the following year. She will also join Foton for this year's tournament in Manila on September 3-11.
