NATIONAL University clobbered Jose Rizal University, 25-11, 25-15, 25-13, on Monday to stretch its unbeaten run to four in the Premier Volleyball League Collegiate Conference at The Arena in San Juan.

Jorelle Singh led the way with 13 points, one point shy of JRU’s total attacks, as the Lady Bulldogs scored their fourth straight win to tighten their grip on the No. 1 spot in Group A.

Jaja Santiago added 12 points and Risa Sato scored 11.

“Close to getting satisfied na ako sa performance nila. Lumalabas ang system, as you can see kanina, marami ng layers of attacks na nakikita. And ‘yung defense system I think naiinitindihan na nila ang sistema,” said NU coach Babes Castillo.

NU scored 40 on attacks, five blocks, nine service aces and earned 22 points from JRU’s errors, while the Lady Bombers only had 14 hits and three aces in the entire match.

Lady Bulldogs setter Jasmine Nabor also registered all of the team’s 29 excellent sets.

The win secured NU at least a playoff for a spot in the semifinals.

Shola Alvarez had five points for JRU, winless in four matches.
